whos the real monster in frankenstein

victor is the one that should be labeled as the monster. he portrayed actions that shows it, such as his selfishness, he is of his own nature. he holds back the truth behind the murder of William costing Justine her life. he also abandons his creation cause he is scared that someone will find out he is the one that created this monster. he also displayed his selfishness when he admitted to himself that he is responsible for the death of Justine, he says its his fault because he created the monster, not that he hid very important information.

Victor has a unbelievable drive to find what he needs in order to create a human and to find answers about the world. Victor is a man of his own he believes things that many of us people wouldn’t believe. He has the mind of Monster. Victor believes that “a new species would bless me as its creator and source; many happy and excellent natures would owe their being to me. i might in process of time renew life where death had apparently devoted the body to corruption”

Victor has abandoned not just his creation, he abandoned his family without a letter sent within several years. as seen in the passage it says, “..forget those friends… whom i had not seen for so long a time” also Victor could’ve easily taught the creature moral and help him adjust to the human environment . but he doesn’t he abandons him which angers the creature. victor left the creature for years on its own and the creature struggled for those years , the years went by and the creature did not recognize his own creator. victor blamed the creature for his own mistakes and victor wanted to kill the creature that HE created.

the real monster is victor without a doubt. creating the creature could’ve went two ways. and victor chose the hard way. he (victor) is the reason for all the deaths that happened.

After reading the frankenstein book and watching the movie you will notice the little resemblance they have and the inconsistencies they having from one another. The Overall proposition is the same: A man uses dead tissue to create a monster. Then the creator becomes disgusted with his creation and then tries to lock it up but the creature escapes and causes unnecessary chaos among others. A similarity they both share is that when the monster wakes up  they show that he is soft spoken, kind and gentle, until he realizes people don’t love him and he is not wanted on this earth pretty much. Although This part in the book is much more detailed than the movie was. Both the movie and book share the same human reaction to the monster. People start to run from him due to his unpleasant face features, some try to kill him out of spite. Both the movie and book have a group of furiated men put in an effort to hunt the monster down after elizabeth was attacked.

There are many more differences than there are similarities. The novel is different from the book because; The monster is unable to speak, the audience aren’t able to experience any humanity that he has, and also the monster is called frankenstein. The movies tries to input fear and suspense instead of feeling pity. In the book when the monsters finds a young girl by the water he saves her but in the film, he throws her in the water. Another difference that stands out is that in the movie she is knocked unconscious for a short amount of time but in the book she is killed. The biggest difference is the purpose of both the movie and the book. The movies purpose was to scare the viewer and show them something they never imagined could or would actually happen. While the book’s purpose was to not only bring horror to your soul but for you to experience your thoughts and feelings. After reading the book you will close it having been fascinated, and enlightened.
